If you’re considering becoming a Fresh Prints Campus Manager, you probably have questions about time commitment, pay, expectations, and what the experience is actually like. This blog breaks it all down clearly and honestly, so you can decide if the role is the right fit for you.
How many hours a week does a Campus Manager need to work?
Most Campus Managers spend around 12–15 hours a week on the role. The schedule is flexible, but the time commitment is real! This isn’t something you just squeeze in between classes and dinner.
Most of your time usually goes toward outreach, follow-ups, client meetings, and managing orders. You get to choose when you work, but staying consistent and setting aside real time is what makes the difference.
The Campus Managers who do well treat this like an actual responsibility, not a “when I feel like it” kind of job.
How much does a Campus Manager make?
Campus Managers earn commission on every order placed, and payments go through the next day after an order is submitted.
How much you make really depends on how much effort and consistency you bring. On average, Campus Managers earn $2,000-$3,000 per semester after their first semester, but there’s no cap. Some people earn more, some less; it comes down to how much time and energy you put into building your client base.
What you earn directly reflects the work you put in. The beginning can feel slow while you’re building momentum, and that’s normal. But dw because you’ll have a mentor to guide you through everything.

Are there sales quotas CMs need to meet?
There aren’t hard quotas in the “hit this number or else” sense. But our standard is working with students who are willing to learn, grow, and pass through discomfort.
At the start of each semester, you’ll work with your Business Development Manager (BDM) to set goals that push you without being unrealistic. The point isn’t to magically land a million-dollar deal (I wish I could do that lol), but to show up consistently and get better over time.
Some weeks will feel slow. Some outreach won’t land. That’s normal. What matters is whether you keep going, learn from what’s not working, and build momentum semester after semester.
Your BDM won’t be hovering over your shoulder. They’re there to help you zoom out, stay accountable, and build systems that actually compound. The Campus Managers who thrive aren’t the ones who land big orders once and dip. They’re the ones who stay determined no matter what.
What does a Campus Manager actually do?
At its core, being a Campus Manager means you’re running a small custom apparel business on your campus. Day to day, that looks like:
- Finding clients: Reaching out to student orgs, Greek life, club sports, and campus groups that need merch (which is… a lot of them)
- Following up: A.K.A. learning how to handle silence, rejection, and slow weeks without taking it personally
- Building relationships: Getting to know people and being someone they trust with their merch needs
- Managing orders: Picking products, finalizing designs, placing orders, and making sure everything runs smoothly
This role isn’t for everyone. It takes initiative, patience, and a willingness to be a little uncomfortable at first. But if you’re open to learning, consistent with your effort, and interested in building something that’s actually yours, it’s a role where you can thrive in.

Do you need to be in Greek Life to apply?
No. While Greek life is a big part of campus culture, you don’t need to be in a fraternity or sorority to be a Campus Manager.
The role is open to any student that has a genuine interest in building relationships, and is comfortable reaching out and working with all sorts of people and orgs on campus.
What do you get out of the Campus Manager experience?
Being a Fresh Prints Campus Manager is a great way to have extra income as a college student. But you can get more than just a paycheck. You’ll get hands-on experience in sales, marketing, client management, and leadership. Plus, you’ll be surrounded by people who’ll empower you and trust you to handle your work, without being spoon-fed or micromanaged all the time.
You’ll build confidence by doing things that feel uncomfortable at first and pick up skills that you can’t learn in just a classroom. Over time, you’ll get an amazing network and a collection of stories you can actually share during future job interviews (not just abstract bullet points on your resume).

What kind of training and support do I get as a Campus Manager?
We started with 5 CMs back in 2009, and almost two decades later, we’re working with 600+ students across the U.S. We’ve since refined our training program continuously so that trainees get the most out of it.
To make the process feasible for any student from any campus and state, training starts with a 10-day self-guided program. Here you’ll get walked through how to do outreach, sales, design, and order fulfillment.
After that, you’re paired with a Business Development Manager (BDM) who acts as a mentor throughout your time as a CM. They’ll help with goal-setting, feedback, and problem-solving, while still helping you learn how to take ownership of the role.
You’ll also work alongside full-time artists, designers, and operations teams, people who know their stuff and are there to help you learn along the way.
How is the Campus Manager role different from a typical campus job or internship?
If you’re expecting something that feels like a corporate internship: sitting in a chair, knocking out the same admin tasks every week, waiting to be told what to do…this isn’t that.
Being a Campus Manager is way more dynamic. Your days won’t look the same, and neither will your orders. One week you might be helping a sorority design Bid Day merch, the next you’re working with a sports club that needs hoodies for an event.
As a CM, you’re not just completing tasks, you’re owning outcomes. You decide who to reach out to, how to build relationships, and how to move things forward. Along the way, you’ll meet a ton of interesting people on campus (people you probably wouldn’t have crossed paths with otherwise). Plus, you’ll get to see more and more of the merch that you helped create. And that’s one of the best parts IMO!
