Recruitment season is coming up, which means most of y’all are in ultra stalking mode. Everyone’s got opinions on figuring out the “top sororities” and honestly? There is no one right answer…BUT we did spend hours doomscrolling and found some cool chapters rising in Greek life. They have us double-tapping, saving posts, and wishing we could rush their house.

Whether you're prepping for Recruitment, planning your next Philo, or just being nosy (love that for you), here’s who to keep eyes on and what you can learn from them as well.

Pi Beta Phi @ University of Alabama

Founded: 1867 (National), 1949 (Alabama Beta chapter)
Values: Friendship, leadership, literacy

Bama Pi Phi is a force. They’ve been around since 1949, and just hit their 75-year milestone in 2024. That’s almost a century of legacy in one of the most high-profile Greek scenes in the country! Nationally, Pi Phi is one of the oldest sororities, and it’s known for its dedication to friendship, leadership, and literacy. Bama Pi Phi embodies that through and through.

In the thick of #BamaRush and #RushTok chaos, this chapter shines for its heart as much as its hype:

  • They raised over $60K for Pi Beta Phi’s Read > Lead > Achieve to help increase access to books, support literacy programs, and raise awareness about the importance of reading
  • Host a Rising Authors mentoring program + showcase at the end of every semester
  • Started a new a Pen Pal Program with two Tuscaloosa County elementary schools
  • Named Order of Omega’s Most Outstanding Sorority for 2025

Back in Spring, they did the cutest golf theme to welcome MC ‘25. And it’s cool how they don’t just post dance vids, but they actually create videos by stitching and editing a bunch of photos and overlay text in the best way possible. They also shared a “To the PNM who…” carousel last month and it was sooo heartwarming to read through!

If you want a chapter that blends sisterhood, service, and a strong media presence, Bama’s Pi Phis are setting the standard.

Zeta Tau Alpha @ University of South Carolina

Founded: 1898 (National), 1929 (UofSC Beta Omicron chapter)
Values: Leadership, sisterhood, philanthropy

ZTA is known for leadership, sisterhood, and their signature philanthropy: breast cancer education and awareness. And the Beta Omicron chapter at the University of South Carolina has serious history—they were the first sorority chartered at UofSC back in 1929. Since then, they’ve grown into one of the largest and most recognizable chapters on campus.

Did we mention they’re absolute baddies online? Their TikTok has almost 30K followers and nearly 700K likes, with their best Recruitment & Spirit Week videos racking up 2 MILLION views EACH. And their golf theme last fall? So good. The athleisure, the confidence—it’s all there.

They don’t just go viral, they have depth. UofSC Zeta’s annual Think Pink Week, Pink-Out games at Williams-Brice, and Big Man on Campus pageant raise more than $150K for charity each year, making them one of the top philanthropic forces rn.

In 2024, they won ZTA’s Quota/Total Award for meeting every recruitment goal; and in 2025, we think they'll hit Crown Chapter status again. If you want polished sisterhood with real purpose, UofSC Zeta is one to watch.

Alpha Chi Omega @ Texas A&M University

Founded: 1885 (National), 1981 (Zeta Nu chapter at TAMU)
Values: Women empowerment, service, authenticity

AXO’s Zeta Nu chapter at Texas A&M is where authenticity meets ambition. Nationally, Alpha Chi Omega was founded in 1885 with a focus on empowering women to be Real. Strong. Women. TAMU AXO lives that out every day. They’ve been part of Aggieland since 1981, and they’ve earned their reputation for kindness, compassion, and killer execution on campus events.

In the last year, TAMU AXO launched one of the most impactful wellness initiatives in Greek life, earning them a national award for member wellbeing. They’re also big on philanthropy—especially their work with Phoebe’s Home, a local women’s shelter. Their Mr. Alpha Chi pageant has become a spring staple, bringing in $30K+ for domestic violence awareness. Beyond that, they’re consistent: strong academics, supportive sisterhood, and events that feel meaningful.

Their social media? Let’s just say we’re still not over their Alpha Guy Omega theme from last fall! And who could forget the pink oversized jerseys they wore?? We’re def excited to see what they do for Work Week this semester.

Kappa Alpha Theta @ Florida State University

Founded: 1870 (National), 1924 (Beta Nu chapter at FSU)
Values: Leadership, education, service

Theta was the first women’s fraternity ever, founded in 1870. FSU’s Beta Nu chapter has been doing their thing since 1924—so yes, they’re nearly 100 years deep. Their national motto, “Leading Women,” is more than just words here.

FSU Theta funds 80% of their local Guardian ad Litem program (which helps foster youth in court) and hosts signature events like CASA on the Court. Plus, they’re known on campus for academic excellence and leadership in every corner.

When it comes to social media, their content’s fun, bold, and always on-brand. They joined the FSL Line Dance this year and crushed it, they showed people how to do Y2K the right way, and even scored a brand collab with Hey Molly a while back. Not all chapters can do that!

If you want powerhouse leadership with just the right amount of glam, FSU Theta is the blueprint.

Zeta Tau Alpha @ Texas Christian University

Founded: 1898 (National), 1955 (Gamma Psi chapter at TCU)
Values: Sisterhood, style, philanthropy

TCU ZTA has been around since 1955 and is one of the top chapters in the country—literally. In 2024, they were named one of ZTA’s top five chapters nationwide

Their campus presence is huge—from Think Pink Week to their elegant White Violet Gala, they’re constantly putting on events that are both fun and impactful. Recruitment? Strong. Retention? Strong. They hit Quota Plus, consistently max out membership, and their philanthropy numbers are impressive year after year!

TCU ZTA is starting to pop off on social media too. They’re consistently shaping their online brand and experimenting with post formats. And I mean, can we just take a second to admire their IG feed rn?? It’s everything.

TCU ZTA is the definition of well-rounded—and worth watching. We can’t wait to see more of them this fall!!

Tips to Elevate Your Own Chapter

Feeling inspired? Good—because these chapters didn’t get here by accident. If your sorority wants to shine this fall, here’s how to channel the same energy:

1. Know your brand and let it show.

What makes your chapter you? Are you the academic queens, the philanthropy pros, the social butterflies? Figure it out and lean in. From your colors to your captions, make sure everything reflects your vibe. Think ZTA’s signature pink or Theta’s black and gold—there’s power in consistency.

2. Be intentional with your content.

Don’t stress about being perfect, just be real. Show what makes your chapter special: Big-Little reveals, prep for events, random sisterhood moments. The key? Keep it genuine and engaging. Comment back, support other orgs, and be a fun account to follow.

3. Always give back.

Every top chapter on this list made waves by giving back; and not just for the sake of it, but because they genuinely care for the cause. Fundraisers that hit big goals, service hours that actually mean something, events that bring the whole campus together—those things matter. Get creative, make it fun, and always share your wins.

4. Prioritize sisterhood and wellness.

The best chapters feel like home. Whether that’s through wellness days, casual hangs, or traditions, make sure your members feel seen and supported. A happy chapter has better vibes and better retention.

5. Tap into your alum network.

Your chapter’s past can help its future. Invite alums to speak, celebrate them on socials, and get them involved. Same goes for your campus community—showing up for other orgs builds your rep in all the best ways.

What really makes a chapter stand out?

Like we said earlier, everyone’s got their own take on who’s top. But what matters is your chapter actually shows up and puts in effort. You don’t need the flashiest feed or the biggest house. If you're consistent, involved, and actually doing things that make your sisters proud—that speaks louder than any ranking. Keep doing what makes your chapter special, and people will notice.
